Future TV to Showcase Ultra High Density AV1 and HEVC/H.265Transcoding at IBC 2023

SAN DIEGO, USA and AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, September 13, 2023 - Future TV, a San Diego based
company offering a complete streaming platform, will showcase its Ultra HD high density AV1 / HEVC- H.265 and H.264 transcoding solution at the IBC show in Amsterdam from September 15 to 18 in booth
5.G03.
The solution called UltraHD AV1 Transcoder supports 180 channels of 1080p AV1 or HEVC/H.265 output from a single 1RU server with MSO grade features designed for 24/7 live TV operation. Future TV’s UltraHD transcoder also supports 4K and 8K videos along with 8 bit and 10 bit HDR.  UltraHD also supports 24 4Kp60 multi-profile transcodes from a single 1RU server.

Future TV's streaming platform includes support for advertising, all kinds of commercial streaming packages, catch up, billing, social media and distributed central headend/regional transcoding for nationwide and global distribution. Future TV's platform enables its customers to deliver high-quality video content to any device with ultra-low latency of less than 1 second along with high scalability. Future TV's platform also supports various formats and protocols.

AV1 is a next-generation video codec that offers up to 50% bitrate savings compared to HEVC while maintaining the same or better visual quality. AV1 is an open and royalty-free standard that is supported by major industry players, such as Google, Netflix, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung. AV1 is expected to become the dominant video codec for online video streaming in the near future.

Future TV's high density AV1 transcoding solution is based on its proprietary hardware-accelerated encoding technology that leverages FPGA (field-programmable gate array) chips to achieve high performance while being Ultra efficient and Ultra-green consuming very little power per channel. Future TV's solution can support up to 180 channels of 1080p AV1 output from a single 1RU server, which is equivalent to 10 times the density of conventional software-based solutions. Future TV's solution also offers MSO grade features, such as SCTE-35 ad insertion, closed captioning, audio normalization, logo insertion, and multi-audio support.

"We are proud to showcase our high density AV1 transcoding solution at IBC 2023," said Bob Kulakowski. CEO of Future TV. "Our solution enables our customers to take advantage of the benefits of AV1 codec without compromising on performance or quality. Our solution also reduces the operational costs and environmental impact of video streaming by saving bandwidth and power consumption."

Future TV will showcase its high density AV1/HEVC H.265/H.264 transcoding solution at the IBC show in Amsterdam from September 15 to 18. Visitors can find Future TV at booth #5.G03 in Hall 5.
